The project

To create an innovative new Google Glass app to reinvent the property search experience. Nexity is a French property development company and the leading player in its sector.

The ambition

The aim of the project, initiated and supported by Niji, was to reinvent the property search experience, reflecting the company's strategy to harness innovation and digital technologies for the benefit of individuals, businesses and local authorities.

Our response Our stance

An innovative functional app

The nature of the Google Glass interface meant we had to focus on what was essential. We therefore produced a user-friendly interface that could be used equally comfortably in the home or in the street (a first!):
- geolocation-based property search
- criteria-based search (property type, size, postcode, etc.)
- navigation guide to the nearest Nexity agency
- toll-free phone number or callback request facility.

Creating an interactive keyboard

The Google Glass device does not have a built-in digital keyboard. And because not everyone can dictate a phone number or postcode, we created an interactive keyboard within the app itself, meaning that users can complete the search criteria even in noisy environments.

Understanding users’ needs When developing this Google Glass app, we needed to identify the positive points and weaknesses of property search activities, especially on mobile devices. We therefore carried out an initial survey and investigation to see how these technologies are used in practice.

A simple, intuitive and immersive user experience Our challenge was to create a simple, effective user experience that reflected the natural property search process. The app shows a selection of available apartments and houses, shows visual elements in context (to heighten appeal), and includes information about the local neighbourhood, forthcoming projects, and key figures such as land tax and population density. It is therefore a valuable tool for both customers and Nexity advisers.

Directing users to the agency Users can contact a customer adviser or be navigated to the nearest Nexity agency via GPS. The facility to book appointments and take a tour of the property was also equally important for potential buyers and Nexity alike.

The result
A truly innovative Google Glass app that helps potential customers find a property and guides them to make contact with a Nexity adviser.
