NOCAS : a legacy from the Niji's experience
Telecoms operators are about to generalize the utilisation of the IP networks in order to offer innovative but complex telephony solutions. Because "Time to market" is a key success factor, operators need flexible solutions to quickly switch from the creation of the offers, by the marketing departments, to the industrialization and the product launch. Thanks to its positioning, on the convergence between the information and communication systems, Niji helps telecoms operators define and set up solutions that will best fit with those needs. From its very beginning, Niji works on the development of complex networks. We, immediately, recognized that there weren't tools on the market, especially developed for the telecom operators that will fasten the production of new and reliable services for a more and more exigent population of clients. Our analysis of the market confirmed the existence of tools for simple services or softwares for network providers. But those tools didn't answer the market that request flexible solution able to automate the configuration and activation of services for both the equipments and the platforms.
Immediately, the ambition of Niji has been to conceive a solution that will manage the IP services higher expectations such as VPN with IP/MPLS technologies, according to the volume expectations of Tier 1 telecommunications operators.

NOCAS : An innovatory and flexible solution of IP services activation
NOCAS (Niji Open Configuration and Activation Solution) is a bundle of software components aiming to automate and increase the reliability for both configuration and activation of services on equipments and platforms.
NOCAS is a very powerful tool, designed to work in multi-provider environments and thus adaptable to the network and engineering choices but also to the services of the telecommunication operators.
NOCAS is also an open product, upgradeable with complementary components for maintenance, management and configuration. It means that NOCAS can manage a complete solution, only by itself, via its position between the Information system and the network.
NOCAS supports a bundle of extensible protocols to create links with equipments such as SQL, HTTP/HTTPS and SOAP. The components of NOCAS are all compatible with a distributed architecture using JMS and CORBA technologies.

NOCAS : a success story
Early adopted by major telecommunication operator in France, NOCAS has enabled the deployment of complex value added services. Via its approach of a flexible product (in function of the needs of the clients), Niji permitted telecommunications operators to quickly deployed error-free turnkey solutions.
Nowadays, large deployments and the huge competition issued from the global offer of telephony, videos and TV via DSL network from alternative telecommunication operators has dramatically modified the market.
NOCAS is the solution to automate the control of services and above all to reduce the time to market and hold a competitive advantage.
